ACCA Ireland hosts business leaders forum
Revenue Commissioners' chairman addresses delegates
19 Sep 2009
Josephine Feehily, chairman of Ireland's Revenue Commissioners, was guest speaker at ACCA Ireland's Business Leaders' Forum in Dublin on 17 September.
During the forum, which took place at the Four Seasons Hotel, Feehily told delegates that the Revenue Commissioners and ACCA Ireland had a shared interest in promoting sound business practices, sustainable business development and high-performing organisations.
'Revenue is determined, notwithstanding scarce resources, to maintain its key customer service and compliance programmes in the current economic climate,' said Feehily. 'Revenue expects businesses to keep a clear focus on tax compliance and, where viable, if businesses have temporary cash flow difficulties they should come and talk to us before the problem gets out of hand.
'Revenue has modernised and transformed itself in recent times and I welcome the opportunity to share these experiences with ACCA Ireland members and to have an exchange of views about the challenges of successful change that are common to both private and public sectors.'
